Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surveying techniques, data analysis, and quality assurance practices. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that construction projects meet regulatory standards, client requirements, and quality expectations. The Quality Surveyor will be responsible for conducting inspections, analyzing data, and providing recommendations to improve project quality and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to assess the quality of construction work, including structural integrity, adherence to specifications, and compliance with building codes and regulations.Quality Control: Implement quality control measures and procedures to monitor construction activities, identify defects or non-conformities, and ensure that work meets established quality standards and project requirements.Measurement and Analysis: Use surveying instruments, tools, and software to measure and analyze construction dimensions, levels, and alignments, and compare results against project plans and specifications.Data Collection: Collect and record data related to construction quality, including measurements, observations, photographs, and documentation of defects or deficiencies, using digital recording systems or paper-based forms.Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, summaries, and documentation of inspection findings, including descriptions of defects, recommended corrective actions, and compliance status, and distribute reports to project stakeholders.Quality Assurance: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to address quality issues, resolve disputes, and ensure that corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner to maintain project schedule and budget.Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards relevant to construction projects, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.Client Communication: Communicate inspection findings, quality concerns, and project updates to clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, and address client inquiries or requests for information in a professional and timely manner.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost savings in quality control and assurance activities, and contribute to the development of best practices and quality standards within the organization.Training and Development: Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior surveyors and construction personnel on quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and compliance requirements.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required; professional certification or licensure as a surveyor or quality inspector preferred.years of experience working as a surveyor, quality inspector, or construction inspector in the construction industry, with demonstrated expertise in quality control and assurance processes.Proficiency in surveying techniques, equipment, and software, including total stations, GPS receivers, laser levels, and CAD software.Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques, as well as building codes, regulations, and industry standards.Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and survey data accurately and efficiently.Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify defects, discrepancies, and non-conformities in construction work and recommend appropriate corrective actions.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Collaborative and team-oriented attitude, with the ability to work effectively with project teams, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives.Commitment to professional development, continuous learning, and staying abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in quality control and assurance.
