The department focuses on youth, educational support, faith-based and multicultural community relations and addresses social/urban challenges required to improve the vitality of the Las Vegas community. YDSI's efforts revolve around building a Strong Start, Strong Schools, Strong Future and Strong Community.A major component of YDSI is the creation of ReInvent Schools Las Vegas (RSLV.) RSLV is a partnership between the Clark County School District and the city of Las Vegas in collaboration with local businesses and non-profit organizations. RSLV is a full-service community school model based on successful plans from across the nation. RSLV utilizes schools as hubs where students and their families can receive necessary assistance and support by focusing on aligning academic achievement, expanded learning, integrated student supports and family and community engagement.
Position Summary:
The Program Specialist assists RSLV schools by providing on-site support implementation of RSLV programs and services and ensures fidelity of the community school model. The RSLV Program Specialist provides technical supervision and support to his or her assigned schools to ensure the RSLV model is delivered with fidelity and students are making progress. The Program Specialist will be assigned to 3 to 4 schools and will travel between school sites.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Performs routine, mid-level work with minimal supervision; provides assistance to city of Las Vegas supervisory or management staff, school personnel, and the AmeriCorps program. Provide assistance to the AmeriCorp program participant's leadership development. Maintain records as needed. Attend meetings as necessary, and other duties as assigned. The Program Specialist will communicate with school staff, city of Las Vegas staff, and the public with information related to the implementation and success of the RSLV community school model.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provide support as needed to the school regarding scheduling of RSLV AmeriCorps program participants; members, and grant requirements.Meeting requests with RSLV staff, upcoming events, and coordination of student enrichment and family engagement activities.Maintain a variety of automated and manual logs, records and files; perform a variety of record keeping, timesheet approval, filing, and other general clerical work.Maintain inventory of RSLV supplies and equipment at their assigned school.Participate and assist facilitation of trainings related to RSLV and AmeriCorps.Assist with gathering information to identify school needs and review with RSLV staff and school administration.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Experience:One year of full-time experience in education, child development, youth programming, or recreation programming. Experience in youth development programs is desirable.
Education:Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in education, child development, public administration, recreation management, or a field related to the essential functions.
A combination of formal education and directly related work experience may substitute for the college-level coursework. The city assesses 1.5 years of fulltime experience as equivalent to one year of education.
Licenses and Certifications:Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license on the date of application, and maintenance thereafter.
Possession of First Aid/CPR/AED certificate is preferred but not required.
