We are seeking a Group Sales Manager to join our team. This key role is responsible for soliciting new accounts and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and/or exceed budgeted and forecasted group revenue goals.
Responsibilities
Solicit new accounts to meet/exceed group room revenue goals for San Francisco Proper; this will consist of telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, trade shows, site inspections and written communication Preparing correspondence to customers on a timely manner, preparing internal booking reports and file maintenance within Delphi Communicate with other departments to ensure reservations and group details are complete to customer satisfaction Participation in sales and revenue meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required Attend community/social/networking events and industry meetings in an effort to gain leads and build relationships in the community Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers Professionally represent the company at all times, especially while attending outside events Assist with reports and /or competitive data collection as needed Qualifications
Knowledge of hotel room sales, planning and execution of sales solicitation effort that is consistent with the sales and marketing objectives of Proper Hospitality Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, both internally and externally Ability to communicate client needs to other departments in a timely manner and resolve complaints from guests as needed Proven ability in sales and skill in both oral and written communication; Forbes training desired Personal computer knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel, Delphi, and HMS) Ability to establish and achieve all sales and activity goals Four-year college degree preferred; however, any combination of education and training within hotel sales may also be considered A minimum of 2 years of past hotel sales experience required
