Downtown L.A. Proper Hotel is seeking a motivated and results-driven Group Sales Manager to join our team. A one-of-a-kind historic retrofit, our 148-room property located in the heart of Los Angeles features interior design by international style icon Kelly Wearstler, multiple dining options by the James Beard Award-winning Lucques Group duo, a panoramic rooftop restaurant-bar & lounge featuring a swimming pool and 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

This key role is responsible for maximizing group bookings, cultivating relationships with key clients and consistently meeting and exceeding revenue goals. As a Group Sales Manager, you will act as a brand ambassador, showcasing the unique charm and luxury of Downtown L.A. Proper to potential clients. The ideal candidate is a dynamic communicator with a strong understanding of the luxury hospitality market and a track record of successful sales strategies within the boutique hotel space.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development Proactively identify and pursue new group sales opportunities, focusing on corporate, social, and event clientele Conduct in-person and virtual sales presentations to clients, showcasing the property's amenities, services and unique selling points Develop and execute sales strategies that align with the hotel's revenue and occupancy goals Client Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships to foster repeat business and drive brand loyalty Serve as the primary point of contact for all group bookings, from initial inquiry through to post-event follow-up Maintain regular communication with existing clients to identify potential new booking opportunities Market Analysis & Strategy

Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities and local market developments to proactively adjust sales strategies Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to identify and target new markets, including corporate, incentive and special interest groups Collaborate with the marketing team to create sales collateral and promotional materials that effectively communicate our brand and unique offerings Collaboration & Coordination

Coordinate with internal teams, including operations, food & beverage, and events, to ensure seamless client experiences from booking to event execution Collaborate with the revenue management team to optimize pricing and yield management strategies Assist in developing and refining group sales processes to improve efficiency and client satisfaction Reporting & Analysis

Track and analyze sales performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for growth Prepare regular reports on sales activities, revenue, and market feedback, presenting insights to the Director of Sales & Marketing Contribute to the annual sales budget and forecast, providing insights into group business potential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field 3+ years of experience in group sales within a luxury or boutique hotel environment Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities Knowledge of CRM and hotel sales software (such as Opera, Delphi, or Salesforce) Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and accountability
