This role will be hybrid with 3 days in the office each week at our Campus West location in Salt Lake City, Utah
Myriad Genetics discovers, develops, and commercializes molecular genetic tests that determine the risk of developing disease, assess disease progression, and guide treatment decisions in Oncology, Women's Health, and Mental Health. We are seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our People (Human Resources) Team. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for day-to-day benefits administration and employee support with benefits-related questions and requests for assistance such as guiding employees through the benefits enrollment process when there is a qualifying event. This Benefits Specialist is also responsible for updating and maintaining benefits systems and data.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in the day-to-day administration of all benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA/HSA, 401(k), Commuter, Life Insurance, Disability, Time off, and Leave of Absence.Perform monthly/weekly invoice reconciliation to ensure benefit elections align with carrier invoices, HRIS, and payroll deductions.Respond to tier 2 benefits-related inquiries regarding benefit programs, enrollments, and systems promptly.Support annual open enrollment activities, including data validation, review of communication material/content and system readiness.Conduct routine audits to ensure accuracy between the benefits system, payroll system, and carrier records.Maintain documentation for various benefits processes and maintain plan documents (e.g., SPDs, SBCs, guides).Perform monthly COBRA reconciliation to ensure elections align with carrier invoices and verify correct reimbursement from TPA.Monitor and resolve discrepancies within electronic file feeds between insurance carriers and HRIS systems and liaise with carriers to rectify errors.Upload various reports to carrier websites as required.Monitor open enrollment and life event processes within HRIS, identifying issues and working with IT to resolve.Assist in organizing benefits and wellness events such as challenges, fairs, webinars, and campaigns.Provide written verification of insurance coverage when needed.Support new hire onboarding as necessary.Continuously seek opportunities to streamline, improve, and optimize benefits processes.Collaborate effectively with Payroll, HR Operations, HRBPs, IT, and other internal stakeholders.Remain up-to-date with changes and developments in benefit programs and regulations.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other federal, state, and local regulations governing employee benefits.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience that demonstrates relevant skills and knowledge required.Minimum of 2 years of experience in Benefits or related work in a fast-growing organization.Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive HR information.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).Familiarity with various databases (e.g., Oracle HRIS, carrier databases, COBRA).Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and adapt to different situations.Thorough understanding of benefit-related regulations (e.g., ERISA, FMLA, USERRA, COBRA) and comprehensive knowledge of health, welfare, and retirement benefit programs.Excellent time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Physical Requirements -stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, pushing or pulling, and reaching. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
