Press Brake Machine Operator

DescriptionEMIT Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Press Brake Machine Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend, shape, and form sheet metal or plate steel to specified dimensions. You will work with various metals and materials, interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints to produce accurate bends and cuts according to precise measurements.Key Responsibilities:Prepare press brake machines for operation by setting and adjusting tooling, backstops, and gauges according to the specifications provided in engineering drawings.Operate press brake machines to bend, form, stretch, and straighten metal plates and sheet metal to specified angles and dimensions as per technical drawings.Inspect finished workpieces to ensure they meet quality standards and blueprint specifications. Make adjustments to the machine settings as necessary to correct deviations.Perform routine maintenance tasks on press brake machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn tooling, to ensure optimal functionality and longevity of equipment.Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.Maintain accurate records of production output, including quantities produced, materials used, and any issues encountered during the manufacturing process.Qualifications:Willingness to learn to be a press brake operator in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.Ability to learn how to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.Ability to set up and operate press brake machines, including selecting and adjusting tooling.Knowledge of different metals and their properties, as well as the ability to work with various thicknesses and gauges.Strong attention to detail and quality control to ensure precise bending and shaping of materials.Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and stand for extended periods.Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine malfunctions and make necessary adjustments.Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities to collaborate with other production staff and supervisors effectively.We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds.
