brings subject matter expertise to the Firm’s governance program, partnering with legal support, operations, and technology teams to ensure compliance with Firm policies and client outside counsel guidelines. This position is a core member of the Governance team and is responsible for driving governance processes and technology (e.g., conflicts checks, new matter intake, ethical walls, records management, outside counsel guidelines, and audit letters). is part of the Information Security and Governance (ISG) department and has significant interactions with partners, clients, and other departments within the Firm.Job Functions & ResponsibilitiesProvide subject matter expertise to the governance program, including conflicts checks, new matter intake, ethical walls, records management, outside counsel guidelines, and audit lettersConduct conflicts checks for new client/matters, pitches, prospective attorneys, and professionalsPrepare and analyze conflicts reports to identify potential conflicts issuesCommunicate potential conflicts issues to attorneys and other interested parties; assist with conflicts resolutionDocument and maintain matter lifecycle data in Intapp, 3E, and other systemsProcess new matter intakes and provide administrative support for the intake review processAnalyze and review engagement letters and conflict waivers; evaluate the need for ethical wallsSet up ethical walls in billing and document management systems; draft and circulate ethical screening memoranda FirmwideMonitor and maintain ethical screens (e.g. add additional screened employees to ethical wall; disable ethical wall, etc.)Process administrative records requests (e.g. file retrieval, transfers, etc.) from clients and other departmentsDrive both the outside counsel guideline review process and the audit letter review process (e.g. drafting responses, tracking deadlines, liaising with partners for review and approval)Advise attorneys and professionals on the Firm’s governance related policies and procedures (e.g. conflicts, new matter intake, and records retention)Collect, analyze, and prepare reports required for senior management, auditors, and other relevant stakeholdersParticipate in risk and compliance initiatives and other related duties as assignedToolsProficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is desiredProficiency with records, intake, and secure file transfer systems (e.g. 3E, Intapp, FileTrail, Varonis, Kiteworks) is desiredProficiency with conflicts database systems (e.g. 3E, Intapp, Aderant, Legal Key) is requiredFamiliarity with Microsoft 365 (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive) and document management systems is desiredMinimum Job QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredBachelor's degree preferred, advanced degree a plus3+ years law firm conflicts, governance, or records experienceExcellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical skillsAbility to work proactively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, interacting professionally with othersDedicated to excellent customer serviceAbility to communicate effectively, verbally and in writingAbility to follow directions and collaborate effectively with a teamFamiliarity with project management principals and methodologiesPhysical DemandsWriting, typing, reading, speaking, hearing, seeing, sitting, bending, reaching, lifting up to 25 lbs.Working ConditionsQuiet office environment in a high-rise building, seated the majority of the timeDirect ReportsNoneCompetenciesTeamwork and Cooperation:
