The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for all aspects of administration and management of the federal, state, and local student financial assistance programs for Denver College of Nursing.ResponsibilitiesManages and provides processes and services needed to assist each student in making application for all forms of student financial assistance (Federal, State, Agency, Lenders, Veterans, Employer, etc.).Manages and provides entrance and exit counseling for all student borrowers.Manages and performs data entry and file maintenance in the Campus Vue, COD, VA Once, Open Net, ECSI, and NSLDS borrower data management systems.Manages and performs need analysis and financial aid packaging.Manages and performs verification and correction of financial aid application data.Manages and maintains student files for completion, monitors all financial aid packages for all students and verification.In accordance with Federal regulations, manages and/or contacts borrowers on Pre-Claims Rosters provided by lenders, loan servicers and guarantors, and attempts to return delinquent borrowers to good standing according to the standards and practices approved and/or recommended by ED or Guarantee Agencies.Manages and performs all default management activity, including data entry in the Campus Vue system for all out-of-school borrowers and maintaining accurate borrower information in Campus Vue, and with any vendors or agencies authorized for default management services.Trains, develops and manages all subordinate financial aid representatives, default management and support staff.Ensures compliance with all state, accrediting and federal financial aid related regulations. Promptly and accurately reports any suspected instances of non-compliance to immediate supervisor(s) and/or higher levels within the organization, as is needed to address and resolve any areas of non-compliance.Reviews all student files to ensure accurate funding and full compliance with all applicable statutes, rules and regulations.Coordinates with other campus personnel to ensure proper disbursements of federal, state and agency funds to students.Monitors and properly maintains all student account payments and status in accordance with all governmental regulations and the requirements, standards and practices of the College.Maintains appropriate relationships with all agencies and governmental entities, including the ED and loan agencies that provide or could provide student assistance to the School’s student population.Monitors & maintains accurate and timely electronic data entry & reconciliation as required by any funding agency.Performs and/or manages return to Title IV calculations, credit balances determination, grant recalculations and ineligible disbursements procedures. Ensures the accurate calculation and timely processing of all refunds.Maintains accurate loan repayment and borrower status records, and fully implements the School’s default management program.Performs other duties as assigned by the School Director and/or Vice President for Finance and/or President/CEO.QualificationsBachelors Degree preferred plus five (5) or more years experience in the administration of federal student financial aid programs.Proficiency in federal verification procedures, determining financial need, student eligibility, return to federal funds calculations, professional judgment determinations, processing Federal Direct Loans, maintenance of NSLDS and managing federal work study programs.Excellent customer service and organizational skills.Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and knowledge of Campus Vue helpful but not required.Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementVision insuranceAbility to Relocate:Denver, CO 80202: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location:
