We are currently recruiting for a Director, Global Oncology Market Access.
The Director will be developing and executing the market access & reimbursement strategies and tactics with a pan tumor perspective. The role will require a strong understanding of the oncology market, shifting global payer environment, and experience in market access, pricing, health outcomes, and launch planning. We are looking for individuals with strong US experience in access, value demonstration, and payer communications.
This position will require outstanding cross functional leadership across access, commercial and Research & Development to conduct and update key market assessments, build the global plan for access and endorse the evidence generation plans for access. The role requires overall flawless execution of tactics to mitigate payers’ concerns on budgets and building robust payer value propositions.
This position requires on-site presence 3 days/week at the Rahway, New Jersey site.
Key responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
Overall responsibility for the development and adoption of a pan tumor reimbursement strategy and tactics working closely with commercial asset/disease colleagues, and Value & Implementation (V&I) teams.
Provide support to the US team, support US specific V&Is and be the voice of US payers and health care systems. Responsibilities in understanding Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and US policies, Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act (FDAMA 114), and different US delivery care models.
Coordinate input into the appropriate V&I teams and provide the access related strategic inputs into the evidence plan generation.
Support the inline brands and provide insights and support to upcoming US launches.
Coordinate with commercial colleagues to lead critical access pillars throughout commercial plans and senior management reviews, plan budgets and track commercial launch/competitive landscapes & clinical development progress.
Provides access leadership and input on activities including launch sequencing, health authority interactions, launch readiness reviews, key customer engagement, payer research, patient segmentation.
Engage with regional & local market access teams (especially US colleagues) to understand individual country market access & reimbursement needs ensuring these are included in asset Access strategies and V&I plans.
Provide input on market access & reimbursement needs for new clinical trials being designed, including launch indication considerations, and indication expansions.
Engage with regional & local teams, and coordinate with Value Evidence Sub-Team/Center for Observational and Real-world Evidence lead and Global Disease Leads (GDLs), to develop view on minimum level of clinical data needed from interim or final analyses to inform Go To File decision.
Lead payer market research to inform global asset access strategy and value dossier development.
Competitive reimbursement tracking to inform on the impact of competitor reimbursement positions and tactics, which impact access/pricing strategies.
Works with pricing colleagues to provide strategy awareness and support materials.
Builds Low Middle Income Countries access opportunities and options.
Leverages data and digital to build tools and platforms for key insights and decision making.
Excellence in execution.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (ideally in a life science/ science/ analytical area); Preferred: Master's Degree or doctoral degree (MD, PhD, JD, Engineering, business).
Minimum 10 years of combined access, commercial, payer, HEOR or related experiences in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
Product launch and reimbursement experience.
Landscape/ Marketplace assessment experience.
Payer excellence, including payer engagements, negotiations and partnerships.
Development of product strategy, product positioning, portfolio strategy and portfolio prioritization.
Comfort with and strong interest in scientific underpinnings of our clinical trials and those of competitors to effectively engage internal and external experts on best patient access strategies for the entire oncology portfolio.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work and make decisions while dealing with ambiguity.
Agility to learn quickly and adapt to changing environment, flexibility in managing and adapting to evolving internal and external dynamics and needs.
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
Must be able to influence without authority as well as work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Project management skills desirable.
