Education / Training
Required: •High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: •Forklift Certified.
Key Job Elements
•Operate Powered Industrial Truck (forklift), pallet jack, skid steer and/or overhead cranes to perform material handling duties; •Sort and process recycling materials using hand tools and machines; •Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels; •Examine and inspect containers, materials or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met; •Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport; •Follow verbal or written work instructions, standards and or QWI's consistently, accurately, and safely.
Qualifications and Experience
•Ability to read, count and understand various inventory codes; •Demonstrate the ability to train other employees on safe and efficient operation; •Inspect and complete reports related to safe operation and maintenance of material handling equipment; •Operate assigned machinery, monitors and optimizing efficiency, perform basic maintenance to machines and performs quality checks; •Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specification and tooling instructions; •Material Handling experience in an industrial setting or equivalent; •Previous forklift or skid steer operation experience preferred.
Essential and Physical Activities Functions: •Motion - Frequent standing and setting. Sustained bending, crouching, stopping, kneeing, squatting and overhead reaching; •Vision/Hearing Requirements - Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and hear audible alarms; •Work Environment - Works on varied surfaces, concrete floors, hard pack or gravel. Non-temperature control environment, all weather conditions with potential of high noise and high dust; •Emotional Demands - Due to the working environment, noise, dust, personal protective equipment, employee must be comfortable working alone; •Safety - Safety Sensitive positions because it works with Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and other moving equipment. Employee must abide by all safety protocols, health/medical screenings and utilize all required PPE. Included but not limited to metatarsal boots, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, aprons, ear protection, etc.
