High class, growing real estate firm is looking for a strong Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager-Property Accounting (DOE). The person will be responsible for overseeing all facets of retail real estate accounting. The position involves comprehensive leadership in property accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, meticulous rent management, and effective collaboration with tenants and affiliated companies. The person will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and compliance while contributing to the strategic financial goals of the organization.Schedule:

Excellent work/life balance and benefitsResponsibilities:Prepare and review financial statements for multiple propertiesManage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing proceduresPrepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysisPrepare and review CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, estimations, budgets and forecasts and respond to tenant disputes related to CAM chargesMaintain support for property balance sheet and income statement accounts for assigned propertiesGenerate CPI or fixed rent increase letters and rent commencement lettersReview monthly sales reports and calculate/bill percentage rentEnter and maintain tenant data in accounting and budgeting/forecasting systemsInterface with tenants to address collections and billing issuesReview and enter A/R adjustments and miscellaneous invoicingQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related fieldMinimum 5-10 years of relevant accounting experience within commercial real estateProficiency in real estate accounting software, Yardi (or MRI) a strong plusAdvanced knowledge of MS Excel and other relevant software toolsFamiliarity with CAM reconciliation processesStrong understanding of real estate accounting principlesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate complex financial information to diverse stakeholdersExceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reportingWork Environment:Our employees dress in professional business attire, and depending on the role, uniforms may be required and providedCaruso cultivates a vibrant office culture through engaging initiatives such as organized social events, promote team-building activities, and celebrate milestones, all aimed at creating a positive and inclusive workplace atmosphereAccessibility: our facilities are designed to be accessible for individuals with disabilities, including elevators and accessible restroomsComputer Work: proficiency in computer-based tasks is essential, as the position involves extended computer usePhysical Requirements: the role may require extended periods of both sitting and standing, so adaptability to both is necessaryTravel Requirements: the ability to travel to and from our Southern California properties within our portfolio is essentialProficiency in English is vital as it serves the primary language of communication with the majority of our team, customers and vendorsAbout Us:Caruso has created a timeless collection of beloved destinations that reflect the unique fabric of the communities in which they live.
