Thriving luxury commercial real estate firm is looking for a strong Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager-Property Accounting (DOE) at their Los Angeles headquarters. The person will be responsible for overseeing all facets of retail real estate accounting. The position involved comprehensive leadership in property accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, meticulous rent management, and effective collaboration with tenants and affiliated companies. The person will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and compliance while contributing to the strategic financial goals of the organization.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and review financial statements for multiple propertiesManage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing proceduresPrepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.Prepare and review CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, estimations, budgets and forecasts and respond to tenant disputes related to CAM charges.Maintain support for property balance sheet and income statement accounts for assigned properties.Generate CPI or fixed rent increase letters and rent commencement lettersReview monthly sales reports and calculate/bill percentage rentEnter and maintain tenant data in accounting and budgeting/forecasting systemsInterface with tenants to address collections and billing issuesReview and enter A/R adjustments and miscellaneous invoicingQUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related fieldMinimum 5-10 years of relevant accounting experience within commercial real estateProficiency in real estate accounting software, Yardi (or MRI) a strong plusAdvanced knowledge of MS Excel and other relevant software tools.Familiarity with CAM reconciliation processesStrong understanding of real estate accounting principles.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate complex financial information to diverse stakeholdersExceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
