General Description:

The Network & Systems Administrator is a salaried position reporting to the Information Technology & Systems Manager.The Network & Systems Administrator is responsible for network hardware and operating systems, administration of users and security, Email, monitoring network related activity and applying updates and patches.The Network & Systems Administrator is responsible for making sure the network hardware and infrastructure are effectively maintained.The Network & Systems Administrator will coordinate efforts with the IT Support Technician(s) to provide user support.Good communications skills are required with the ability to work with all levels of the organization diplomatically and skillfully.The position requires strong organizational skills, analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.The Network & Systems Administrator must have the ability to prioritize issues and multi-task. The Network & Systems Administrator may need to work evenings, nights or weekends, as required, to monitor, maintain or updates network & systems.

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related area of study or equivalent industry certificationsMinimum three years' experience in the following areas

Windows server administrationMicrosoft Entra ID administrationMicrosoft Office 365 & Exchange administrationDuo administrationCisco/Meraki switches and firewallsCisco/Meraki Access points

Proficient in Microsoft Operating SystemsSpecific Tasks and Focus Areas:

Network hardware and Systems implementation, administration, maintenance and supportSet up and configure network file servers, firewall, switches, access points, MFPs and other related network hardwareInstall Operating systems, software, updates, firmware and patches as requiredCoordinate activities to ensure success without unnecessary system outagesMonitor appropriate security procedures to safeguard the system from physical harm and viruses, unauthorized users and damage to dataPerform routine maintenance on network hardware and software systemsCreate and maintain network user groups and accounts (on premise & cloud)Group Policy ManagementMultifactor Authentication (MFA) administration and supportResolve network related user issuesHelp to configure and support network connected machines and equipmentTelecommunications Systems Administration

Administers user accounts, extensions and voice mail

Email Platform and user access

Administers Email platform and security

Provide technical support and training to all departments as needed

Provide IT Support Technicians(s) with support as neededProvide users with telephone and in person support to troubleshoot minor issues

Diagnosing and resolving issues that arise with network hardware, software, connectivity and network performance

Troubleshoot and resolve functionality issues with file servers, switches, access pointsTroubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues with file servers, switches, access pointsInterface with vendor, when advised, for higher level technical supportAdvise Information Technology & Systems Manager of complex issues

Generate and maintain network documentation as required

Create documentation for network hardware, component and software informationCreate network diagram for hardware placementCreate and maintain documentation for policies relating to user security, access and rights.

Data backup systems Administrator

Install/Maintain software on file server for data backupInstall/Maintain software on new endpoints for backup as requiredMonitor scheduled data backupsRestore user files when required

This position will require access to ITAR and/or EAR controlled technical data, technology or source code, and requires that all individuals in this role be authorized to access such information.
