Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities (BBBSTC) is looking for enthusiastic and passionate professionals to join our team as program facilitators. In this role, you will design, plan, and deliver high-quality, engaging programming for our matches (adult mentors and youth mentees). Your focus will be on the personal, social, cultural, and educational development of elementary and middle school youth at various schools and corporate sites across the Twin Cities.This position empowers young minds, strengthens connections between matches, and fosters strong relationships at each site. You will ensure clear expectations and alignment for a mutually beneficial partnership between BBBSTC and each site. We are seeking individuals with excellent interpersonal skills, along with strong organizational and time management abilities, to excel in program facilitation and coordination, youth engagement, and group management.Job Details Number of Openings: 2Start Date: As soon as possibleLocation: Hybrid with in person requirement at various program sites across the Twin CitiesHiring Salary Range: $29.00 - $35.00 per hour. Starting salary will depend on your skills and demonstrated readiness for the role.Required Availability: Every other Wednesday for 3 hoursJob Type: Job Type: Part-time, Non-exemptSupervisor: Manager of Site Based MentoringEssential Job Functions: Program Development and FacilitationFacilitate biweekly youth programming (45 minute sessions) at a corporate worksite mentoring program, using established session plans. Employee may be required to ride the bus from the school site to the corporate partner site.Lead setup, delivery, and cleanup of program areas.Review and adapt established session plans in preparation of facilitation of youth programming.Participate in short training sessions to become familiar with requirements for each session.Support experiences that foster a sense of purpose, community, connection, and safety.Positively represent BBBS with program partners and program participants.Track attendance and program progress and communicate any participant needs, concerns, feedback, and progress to the supervisor. Apply child safety and risk management practices proficiently, including acting as a mandated reporter.Implement conflict resolution interventions as needed. Support program orientation for new participants at various sites.Pick up program materials to utilize during programming.Contribute to the mission and success of the agencyAdopt strengths-based perspectives when discussing specific groups or contexts, particularly those historically marginalized. Handle data from youth, families, mentors, or other constituents with care, ensuring secure and private maintenance. Stay informed about community needs, resources, and networks. Collaborate with others to achieve goals outlined in the annual business plan. Honor and respect the diversity of lived experiences, fostering an inclusive and equitable environment within the organization.Represent BBBS well in the broader community. We encourage all applicants who believe they possess the necessary skills and experience to apply, regardless of whether they meet each requirement to the fullest extent.Education and ExperienceBaccalaureate degree in social services, youth work, education or related field or meet one of the following qualifications:Within 6 months of completing bachelor's degreeAA degree and 2 years relevant work experienceHigh school diploma/GED equivalent and 4 years of relevant work experienceAt least 1 year of experience facilitating youth programmingExperience developing program curriculum preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAccess to reliable transportation requiredKnowledge of youth development; past experience supporting youth development and related programming is strongly preferredWillingness and ability to engage listen to and engage youth in their own creative processSkill in effectively engaging youth and adults by asking questions, setting age-appropriate high expectations, and providing a safe spaceExperience handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentialityAbility to think critically and establish boundariesFlexible and self-starting; able to manage multiple concurrent projects with a high level of detail and quality Cultural competency and experience working with diverse youth and familiesAbility to build and maintain partnershipsStrong writing skills and the ability to communicate professionally with external constituentsAbility to proactively solve problems and resolve conflicts with volunteers, youth, and program site professionalsAbility to work collaboratively with a team and independently to meet job expectationsAbility to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate program participants' schedulesAbility to provide and accept feedback and supervisionPhysical RequirementsThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines and filing cabinets.
