Overview
The Stern Area System (SAS) team is currently looking for an experienced engineer to lead our software development efforts. The successful candidate will join a team of both in house developers and subcontractor developers. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of systems engineering including the establishment of requirements for both tactical and non-tactical (simulation) software, development of software requirements and interface requirements specifications, software design, providing oversight to software developers in the development of both tactical and non-tactical (simulation) software, performance of software and system integration testing.

Strong sense of team environmentStrong organizational, communication, written, and interpersonal skillsAbility to interface with NAVSEA customer on all software and cyber related activitiesAbility to function independently but contribute as a member of the overall teamAbility to apply attention to detail, technical rigor, problem-solving, and multi-tasking to technical assignmentsAbility to plan, organize, and schedule workWillingness to take on, research, and solve challenging problemsQualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering discipline, related technical degree3+ years of related work experienceWorking knowledge of SW development languages including C/C++Experience working in a Linux development environmentExperience developing requirements specificationsWorking knowledge of JIRA and GitLab workflows including code development, review, integration and testingExperience with system and software designExperience developing test procedures, test reports and technical manualsExperience conducting system and/or software testingAbility to troubleshoot and categorize system, software, configuration, and hardware problemsExperience with subcontractor managementPreferred:
5+ years of related work experienceSecret security clearanceDemonstrated experience in a software development environmentKnowledge of the SWFTS TI/APB baseline development process and associated baseline productsKnowledge of RMF, Cybersecurity related certification, training, or experiencePI251372369
