Production ManagerAerotek is hiring for a dedicated Production Manager to execute the production schedule and meet customer demand. You will hire, train, and manage production supervisors and operators. You are responsible for ensuring quality, safety, and procedural standards are maintained while attaining cost targets.RequirementsBachelor's degree in food science, business, or related field PLUS 5 years in culinary/food manufacturing, including at least 2 years as a supervisor.Food manager certification, sous vide certification preferredFluent in English (reading, writing, speaking), Spanish-speaking ability preferredDirect experience with coaching and training employees on recipes, proper procedures and measurement techniquesAbility to identify production errors such as improper procedures, scaling, hygiene, sanitation, and safetyAbility to perform repetitive motions, bend, stoop and stand for long periods of time, including working in coolers and freezersAbility to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and divisionPreferred: experience with production computer system & Excel, experience as a chef in a retail food preparation environmentJob ResponsibilitiesPlanning and scheduling production requirementsCommunicating with purchasing and receiving departmentsReviewing production and completing work ordersUpdating information systems and generating reportsAdjusting production schedules and communicating changesCoordinating hiring and promoting with HREnsuring comprehensive employee trainingResponding to production and quality issuesWork EnvironmentWorking in areas between 45-60°F, as well as in coolers (25-40°F) and freezers (as low as -10°F)Use or being in the proximity of knives, broilers, grills, ovens, searing and other food preparation equipment, plus packaging equipment that requires attention to safety guidelinesFast-paced, deadline-oriented work environmentAbout Aerotek:We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
