ALEX - Alternative Experts (ALEX) is now hiring a CAD GIS Specialist for an immediate
on-site
opening in Arlington, VA. The selected candidate will support the United States Department of Defense (DOD) by providing CAD and drafting support services within a large secure facility. This includes 2D/3D drafting in support of various engineering disciplines (Architectural, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Security, Furniture / Equipment, Life Safety, & Automated Controls).
Requirements
Specific duties and skills include:
Professional experience using Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD software.Experience performing geospatial modeling, analysis, and data manipulation.Experience analyzing spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.Understanding of engineering drawings and a master record drawing repository.Experience creating, modifying, converting drawing records.Experience handling customer requests and providing exceptional customer service.Experience in managing and configuring data and metadata to common geospatial standards such as SDSFIE.Experience using AutoCAD to create, modify, convert, and standardize new or existing CAD drawings.Experience conducting QA/QC on facility drawing records.Standardize new or existing CAD drawings.Ability to walk long distances outdoors to enter and exit facility as well as conduct surveys.Education, Certifications, and Clearance:
Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in drafting, geography or related physical or geospatial science such as Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Cartography, Information Technology, Computer Science, Urban Studies/ Planning or Construction related field.OR
a minimum of 1 year experience using ESRI ArcGIS, applications and tools as well as a minimum of 2 years of CAD experience utilizing the Autodesk suite.Active Secret Clearance preferred.
