Material Handler - 3rd Shift

Essential Function is the movement of materials between production areas. Material movements include operation of manual and motorized equipment including but not limited to forklifts, pallet trucks, company vehicles, etc. Other duties to include general labor duties as assigned.
Essential Functions/Key Accountabilities:Follow direction provided by Supervisor or designee.Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to, and enforcing, all safety procedures and policies inside and outside the facility, including use of personal protective and McLanahan equipment as required.Represent McLanahan Corporation in a positive manner both internally and externally while adhering to the organizations core values.Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.Maintain a clean work area utilizing 5S principles and daily organizational skills.Transfer materials and equipment to/from staging areas and production areas as needed both physically and systematically to support tracking of material movements.Perform other duties including cleaning, sweeping, etc. as directed by supervisor.Load and unload material by hand, forklift or pilot jack devices.Maintain truck log book of activities while driving or while away from the facility.Maintain scrap pans program including gathering and disposition of scrap materials.Operate vehicles, pick-up truck and others, in accordance with McLanahan standards.Follow established standard operating procedures.Required to maintain and remain in good standing a state issued drivers license.Position will require the individual to operate overhead crane and jib hoist.Education/Qualifications/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent.Two years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.Experience operating overhead cranes and jib hoist.Prior experience with rigging.Competencies/ Knowledge/Attributes:
Successfully complete fork lift training provided by the company.Computer literacy including MS Office applicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Ability to successfully reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Physical Requirements:
This position is typically located in a manufacturing setting and requires sitting and standing for long periods of time. The position requires ambulatory skills sufficient to travel domestically and internationally. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, visual acuity to use a keyboard, and operate standard office equipment. Ability to maneuver (lift, move, carry, etc.) items up to 50 pounds. Requires the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of both verbal and written communication. Requires the ability to get in and out of a forklift and other vehicles.
