ATI is seeking to hire a Product & Process Development Engineer Intern for our Summer 2025 Internship Program. This position will be based in Millersburg, OR and will run from June to August 2025. Relocation and housing assistance is available for the summer.

The Process & Product Development team works collaboratively to design and improve the manufacturing of challenging materials. P&PD Engineers lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts with a variety of metal melting and forming processes towards improvement of quality, cycle time, yield and/or cost, and provide technical support to internal and external customers. Our efforts solve hard problems in medical, energy, aerospace, and defense markets with refractory metal alloys and material systems of Ti, Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta, V and Ni.
What You'll Do
The Product & Process Development Engineer Intern will work collaboratively with the P&PD team to advance development projects from initiation to closure, including: 1) project definition, 2) experimentation & analysis, 3) formal reporting, and 4) presentation to broad, internal audiences. A typical project could improve a forging practice, formulate and melt a new refractory alloy, or develop a model of an annealing process. The ideal intern will possess attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal skills along with a desire to learn about industrial scale metallurgy of refractory metals and alloys.
