**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Job Specialty:** ICU/PCU RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 12-hour days - 3x12s, every other weekend, first to float, every other holiday
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years
**License:** Valid RN license required
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS
**Must-Have:**- Prefer experience with IABP, Impella, Prismaflex, ventilators, Arctic Sun- Must be willing to accept PCU assignments/ratios
**Job Description:**- Department: ICU/PCU combined- Patient care primarily for adults and geriatrics- Common patient diagnoses: CABG, carotids, VATs, cardiovascular issues, STEMIs, sepsis, pneumonia, surgical cases, traumas, DKA, OD, ETOH withdrawal, and more- Ratios: ICU 1:1-2, PCU 1:3- RNs required to titrate critical care drips: vasopressors, heparin, Lasix, antiarrhythmics- Charge Nurse responsibilities include responding to codes and RRT, typically no patient assignment unless needed- No nurse aids/patient care techs; RN manages all duties- Intensivist MD available in-house 24/7- Respiratory Therapist assigned to ICU 24/7- RNs required to troubleshoot respiratory equipment; no monitor techs; RNs to read and interpret cardiac strips- Manager-generated schedules; possibility of block schedules depending on unit needs- Floating required to MS Tele for PCU patients and MS for full patient assignment, some ER holds/boarding- Two 12-hour shifts for unit-specific orientation- No on-call or standby requirements- Charting System: EPIC- Trauma Level: 2- Division: Nursing- Additional Notes: ICU RN to take PCU patients frequently
**Additional Requirements:**- Radius Rule: Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius and may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated health facilities.- Requests for time off need to be submitted upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract). No additional requests for time off will be approved post-submission.
