Senior Principal Airworthiness Engineer - Aircraft Certification
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Airworthiness Engineer to join our Office of Independent Airworthiness team in San Diego, CA.This role will support certification efforts on various air vehicle platforms, ensuring the logical and systematic realization of customer airworthiness certification objectives into system solutions.Performs technical airworthiness planning and verification, including development and negotiation of airworthiness plans and bases of certification.Reviews and coordinates with other airworthiness engineers and internal disciplines to ensure compliance with customer requirements.Manages and maintains airworthiness evidence to support Military Flight Releases and Air System Continued & Continuing Airworthiness.The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment with diverse assignments and collaborative/team settings.Bachelor's in STEM discipline with 9 years experience, or Master's with 7 years experience, or PhD with 4 years experience.Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516B Expanded and -516C.Work experience leading the development of Airworthiness plans and related activities.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.Preferred qualifications include military aircraft development or modification experience, DoD and Civil Airworthiness Experience, and design and systems engineering experience in various areas.
