We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Security Officer. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Security Officer is responsible for monitoring property, underage prevention, controlling access to restricted areas, reacting to guest and team member incidents, ensuring the safety and security of guests and team members, and provide safety escorts as designated. Delivers excellent guest service in accordance with Oaklawn's Core Values and Standards of Behavior. The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:Ensures compliance with operational procedures for activities such as guest service standards, fire prevention, emergency response, guarding and patrolling the physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel inside and outside the facility, and responding to accidents and criminal acts inside and outside the facility.Ensures compliance with all regulatory controlsEnsures the enforcement of state casino laws including (but not limited to) the identification and removal of underage persons from the casino floor.Responds to verbal and/or physical altercations and applies or directs the appropriate measures to resolve the situation.Adheres to scheduling and coordinates with manager any scheduling concerns, with attention to guest satisfaction.Enforce internal control policies and proceduresEnforce underage gambling and drinking lawsConduct regular security post inspectionsPrepare security incident reports and maintain security logs.Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.Patrol (on foot) designated areas to prevent theft, violence, safety issues and hazardsEnsure locked areas remain secure by performing door checksRespond to all security calls and alarms in a timely manner. Operate communication equipment properly, safely and according to company policy and procedurePerform escorts of company funds in a safe, secure, timely, and proper mannerProvides assistance, directions, and answer questions as needed in a professional courteous mannerPerforms daily duties and other miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedStay informed of and follows safety and emergency action proceduresComplete all Security department paperwork in a timely and efficient mannerKnowledgeable of and consistently follow Oaklawn policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state and federal regulationsCommunicate effectively with all levels of the Oaklawn team members and guests.Regular attendance is requiredPerform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alikeMaintains strict confidentialityMaintain a positive and professional image for the Oaklawn at all times when performing duties or representing the Oaklawn and encourage others to do the sameMaintains an attitude & philosophy consistent with the company Core Values and Standards of Behavior with internal & external guestsRegular punctual attendanceAbility to work required overtimeAbility to handle several tasks at the same timeAbility to lead by example and act as an ethical and positive role modelAbility to maintain a calm, professional and friendly demeanor in all situationsAble to maintain the highest level of confidentialityAble to quickly adapt to changing prioritiesSuperior guest service and interpersonal skills.Must be able to work independently and on a team, and exercise good judgment in handling a variety of situations.Excellent communication and problem-solving skillsHighly organized and detail orientedKnowledge of Gaming Commission policies, procedures and guidelinesKnowledge of gaming, federal and state reporting requirementsStrong computer skillsHighly organized and detail orientedMust have a professional attitude and appearance.Ability to use a hand-held radio for communicationsAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in EnglishOther duties and responsibilities as assignedQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent1+ year security or similar experience preferredGuest service experience is a mustMust have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.Ability to maintain a calm, professional and friendly demeanor in all situations.Ability to handle and defuse hostile, intoxicated or upset individuals professionally and calmly.Ability to use a hand-held radio for communications.Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.Must possess a valid driver's license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn Jockey Club.
