We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Receiving Barn Assistant. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Receiving Barn Assistant is responsible for overseeing all horses to the receiving barn and coordinate the arrival and departure time with trainers.Make sure stalls are clean and properly beddedAssign stalls to trainers arriving that dayAssign racing slipsGet stakes stalls prepped for horses arriving in other barnsAbility to work required overtimeRegular punctual attendanceMust be able to read, write legibly, understand and speak EnglishAbility to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environmentMust be able to lift 50 lbs.Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidaysAbility to stand for periods of time and work in inclement weather when necessaryPunctual attendance requiredAbility to work required overtime.Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
