Title: Sr IT Project Manager(Remote)
Location: Remote
Duration: 5 months (with possible extension)

Remote policy 80% Remote 20% Onsite (must be on site for 1st week)

Job Summary:

DivIHN is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Manager. The candidate will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of technology projects. A Senior Project Manager is expected to have more experience than other project managers and may manage a single, large initiative or multiple projects at once with minimal oversight.

The ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience and strong communication and presentation skills to VP and C-level executives.

Project Insight: This specific Sr. Project Manager hire will work closely with both IT and Business teams to clarify and develop application continuity planning for multiple application areas. Team members will include business and technical roles and a document writer. An understanding of IT disaster recovery and business resumption activities is a plus. While largely remote, minimal availability at Springfield, IL, and Hoffman Estates, IL is helpful. The candidate must be in the US-based for this role.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Planning: Clarify scope and secure scope agreements. Forecast project timelines, resource needs, and projected costs. Organize any logical project phases and build logical and readable project plans to aid task assignments and client status reporting. Oversee and actively manage the project's planning and implementation. Work with core project team (such as business partners, vendors, and technical teams) to develop a comprehensive detailed, actionable project schedule and WBS plan with clearly defined milestones and deliverables.
  • Leadership: Manage and lead a project team. Monitor and ensure stakeholder satisfaction. Raise resource concerns and risks as needed and appropriately. Create weekly status reports for all projects managed. Drive projects and tasks to completion.
  • Management: Manage resources, schedules, and financials. Adhere to quality and control guidelines. Demonstrate active project plan usage and leverage that planning to assign tasks and ensure team members are clear on actions and delivery dates. Schedule and lead team, stakeholder, and executive-level meetings with appropriate presentation deliverables. Track and report project performance against predefined metrics, taking corrective actions if necessary to ensure the project is up to date and project documentation is accurately recorded.
  • Problem-solving: Monitor progress, set deadlines, solve issues, and manage shifting priorities. Analyze and present multiple solutions along with project-positive recommendations.
  • Risk management: Identify, assess, and control threats to the project. Actively manage risk and issue logs and help drive closure on any related mitigation actions.
  • Process improvement: Contribute to initiatives that improve project delivery on specific problems and the broader Program Management CoE.
  • Business and Technology: Learn and be able to field questions on project-related business processes and technology aspects.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or business administration or a related field. PMP certification is preferred. Proven experience (8 years) in project management roles, with internal and external client projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches, with the ability to tailor methodologies to specific project needs.
  • Strong understanding of project plan organization, dependent tasks, milestone definition, and the ability to translate project plan milestones to leadership status reports.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project for project planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address challenges proactively while maintaining a focus on achieving business objectives.
  • Experience in working within project governance frameworks, resource management processes, and project portfolio management practices.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, promote lessons learned discussions, and develop practical solutions.
