Certification Details ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Job Details Specialty: Critical Care 6120 Nurse/Patient Ratios: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MedSurg 1:5 Experience: First time traveler okay. Prefer ICU background, otherwise must have PCU background. Charge Nurse on each shift: 1 charge nurse every shift. They only take patients if absolutely necessary. Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Experience with titratable drips: ICU - all common critical care drips. PCU: Cardizem, insulin, pressors/inotropes, heparin, Lasix, bumex. Job Requirements ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required Must be able to titrate drips. Must be comfortable taking PCU (1:4) or MedSurg (1:5) patients. Techs are generally staffed (census/staffing dependent) ratios: 1:8-16. Schedule Information 12Hr shifts: 545a-6p & 545p-6a Schedule is out for 6-weeks at a time, 2 weeks in advance. Weekend Requirements: At least every other, if not most all weekends Holiday Requirements: Varies, but usually staffed into holidays, as needed. Unit Specific Information Number of Beds: 32 Common titratable medications on unit Charge Nurse present on each shift Techs are staffed based on ratios Hospitalist in house 24/7 RT in ICU 24/7 Respiratory Therapy Equipment: Vents, CPAP, BIPAP, heated high flow (Opti flow) Tele/Monitor Techs: Tele tech is located in the ICU, monitors various units Scrub Color: Royal blue scrubs Orientation: Hospital orientation is M-F the first week, then 2 shifts on the unit with EPIC training, basic skills, & manager expectations Additional Details Radius Rule: Cannot live in North Platte, NE Date Entered: 11/1/23; EOW and Holiday Common diagnoses: Heavy cath lab procedures, sepsis, neurosurgery, drug & alcohol abuse, COPD, CHF, etc. ICU: occasional IABP, Impella.
