Job Overview
Great Lakes Cheese is seeking an intern at our Hiram, OH location. From the start, interns are challenged to demonstrate their strengths and apply their knowledge to help us achieve our business strategy. This position is a paid internship.
Job Responsibilities
Participate in a variety of business projects and opportunities as part of the GLC Intern Association.Participate in a variety of personal and professional developmental workshops.Participate and execute in a community service project in alignment with GLC's corporate social responsibility initiative.All GLC interns are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.All GLC interns are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.Will be exposed to SAP Suite of Products. Any exposure to SAP will be added advantage.Knowledge of advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniquesApplies a data driven approach with analytical rigor to deliver actionable intelligence to stakeholders including reports, visualizations and analysesConduct quantitative analysis on large data sets with manager and team supportFind patterns or anomalies by building out visualizationsAnswer key business questions through exploration data analysis and discoveryProven strengths in data science and analytics development with large datasetsCollecting data via SQL queriesRequired Education and Experience
Pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Computer ScienceExperience working with relational databases (SQL)Understanding of Machine Learning techniquesMinimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.Preferred Education and Experience
Problem solving skills.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Strong communication, presentation, and team skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, able to work well independently.Skilled in R or Python and SQLGitHub exposureDate engineering/modeling knowledge
Working Conditions•Work is performed in an office setting.•Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
