Business or Technical Associate's Degree or the equivalent experience is required. In addition, a minimum of 2 years of related experience is required; 2 years of production supervisory experience is preferred
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a 1st Shift Manufacturing Coach (Supervisor).
The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.
General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: Supervises the day-to-day workflow of subordinate nonexempt workers who put together component parts to make assemblies, subassemblies, packaging or completed units Reviews production schedules, material, and manpower resources in order to assign employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements Informs assigned employees of production and material problems and coordinates with support groups to resolve problems affecting schedules Participates in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures Maintains a variety of reports, records, and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods, etc. Ensures the employment, training, employee motivation, counseling, and performance management of employees supervised May direct subordinates through "lead" employees within the department May participate as a mentor to other employees and support performance management activities. Ensures training certifications are up to date for employees within area of responsibility May lead or participate in Project/ Process improvement teams Interacts with Quality Personnel to ensure area quality objectives are met May be 1st Level Supervisor of people
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Distinct knowledge of production activities Distinct interpersonal skills Distinct communication skills, both verbal and written Distinct ability to present at management meetings Possesses motivation, leadership, mentoring and facilitating skills Distinct ability to transfer knowledge and experience across product lines Distinct skills in problem solving Distinct knowledge of process improvement methods and tools. Distinct computer skills
