Ceded Re Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis
on our
Ceded Reinsurance team.
Sompo's Ceded Reinsurance team is a globalized customer focused, dedicated and professional organization. The team is responsible for the purchasing and management of Ceded Reinsurance placements. This global role is a key and highly visible role contributing to the annual multi-year financial planning process and periodic forecasts. This role will have financial responsibility for ensuring accurate and timely achievement of financial reports and collaborating with key stakeholders on opportunities for continuous improvement.

This position will be based out of an office in the NY area including
New York City (1221 Avenue of the Americas) or our Garden City

What you'll be doing:Participation within the coordination of the Company's annual budgeting process and monthly checkpoint analyses toward budgeted targets specifically for the Internal Reinsurance Vehicle
Continuous enhancement of forecasting tools deepening trend analysis and profitability metrics
Working with the Insurance business units to develop meaningful reports to analyse business performance toward stated goalsCreating quarterly analytical reports for use within the Reinsurance leadership presentationsCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders by identifying, researching, and resolving discrepancies in financial reports, utilizing internal reporting processes, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency of financial operationsPreparing and analysing consolidated Reinsurance information for quarterly financial reportingAssist with internal and external Audit requirements (e.g. Cash Roll Forwards and Ceded Analytic)Performing ad hoc project work (e.g. M Files and retrocession analysis)What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree with major in quantitative field (e.g. Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics)1-3 years of relevant financial experience; experience in the Reinsurance industry
strongly
preferred; Financial Planning & Analysis, data analysis, and financial reporting experience preferredAdvanced working knowledge of:
Economic & accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, and bankingInsurance products and concepts relating to the industryFinancial reporting, financial analysis and financial modelingMicrosoft Office Suite and budgeting software; Anaplan strongly preferred
Manage qualitative data to be accurate, timely and accessible as well as possess high degree of financial acumen and awareness of financial responsibilityCommunicate written and verbal information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner with ability to build and establish constructive and cooperative working relationshipsStrong computer skills required, especially in ExcelSalary Range:
$75,000 - $110,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
