GRID CONNECTION & ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Job Purpose:

We are hiring an Electrical Engineer who will guarantee the strategy and the follow up of the grid connection process with an optimal cost and delay consideration. Our Electrical Engineer will be the key member of the team and he/she will ensure all the electrical feasibility studies of the power plants for the MV internal network included in the electrical substation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Ensures the realization of basic electrical studies, considering technical constraints (environment, land, local standards...) and the specificity of requests formalized by "internal contractors":

Defines and organizes studies by choosing and applying appropriate and effective methods.

Collects and analyzes the necessary data on plans and/or in the field.

Formalizes results: plans, preliminary calculation notes (report, SLD single-line diagram, section of cables, etc.).

Carry out and supervise with system operator (TSO & DSO) all connection procedures (management and follow-up of administrative requests at the expense of the owner engineer), including:

Grid connection agreement.

Other DSO/STO agreements like substation planning agreement and power-line planning agreement.

Negotiation of delay and cost.

Develops strong relationships with the system operator, participates in professional union work-groups dedicated to grid connection.

Participates in progress meetings on the projects to ensure electrical and grid connection issues are taken into account.

Works in collaboration with international teams based in France to establish the best strategy to solve identified issues.

Leads electrical studies done by subcontractors or the electrical engineering department:

Defines the scope of supply.

Ensures technical clarifications and follows up on the work.

Provides technical support to the construction team during the process of tendering and technical clarifications with subcontractors or BOP.

Manages project documentation: development, updating, and control of contractual and regulatory compliance of documents defining the architectures and equipment, execution documents:

Participates in the material validation process (factory acceptance test, delivery follow-up).

Follows activities on site during the construction stage and collects all needed documentation (Site acceptance test).

Takes into account all the challenges of the projects and activities of his department.

Desired Background:

Holder of an electrical engineering degree or other applicable university qualification.

At least 3 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer in large scale Wind and/or PV Projects.

Passion for the renewable energy industry.

Adaptable to changing conditions.

Can-do attitude.

Ability to communicate with various stakeholders.

Comfortable working in an international environment.

Languages: Greek & English essential.

Good MS Office skills.
