Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

The majority of PICU patients arrive through our in-house, nurse-managed Transport Team and Access Center for care that can only be provided at UCSF Medical Center.

These patients receive care for a variety of life-threatening medical and surgical conditions. Nurses on this unit learn the skills necessary to maintain vital functions for these fragile children, while supporting their families through difficult times.

The PICU Registered Nurse will coordinate patient care in collaboration with physicians, PICU CNS, Respiratory Therapists, Child Life, Social Work, Nutrition and Discharge Case Managers.Required QualificationsTwo years recent inpatient Pediatric Critical Care nursing experience

or

two years of recent Adult Medical/Surgical/Neuro ICU nursing experience

or
