Nurse Practitioner Pediatric OHNSOtolaryngology - Pediatric Head and Neck SurgeryFull TimeJob SummaryThe Otolaryngology ambulatory clinics are high volume and focus on a variety of specialty otolaryngologic diagnoses. This position is a clinical role; therefore, no call, weekends, nights, or holiday coverage is required. This position is inpatient and outpatient.Additional practice locations include: Faculty Practice Otolaryngology Clinic - 2380 Sutter Street - San Francisco CA, Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland Pediatric Otolaryngology 744 52nd St, Oakland, CA 94609, the Voice and Swallowing Center 2330 Post St, Facial Plastics Surgery 2320 Sutter St, Berkeley Outpatient Center 3100 San Pablo Ave, Bayfront 520 Illinois Street, 4th Floor, SF CA94107, Redwood Shores clinic 1100 Park Pl.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $95.69 - $124.10 (Hourly Rate).Department DescriptionThe Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery offers a broad scope of outpatient and inpatient services for the management of ear, nose, and throat diagnosis. Specialty programs within the department include otology/neurotology, the Balance and Falls Center, the Cochlear Implantation program, head and neck surgery, rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery, endocrine (thyroid/parathyroid) surgery, minimally invasive skull base surgery, facial plastic surgery, laryngology, pediatric otolaryngology, general otolaryngology, sleep apnea surgery, voice and swallowing disorders, sialendoscopy and audiology.Required QualificationsMinimum of two (2) years of independent NP clinical practice.Prior OHNS practice or surgical sub-specialty experience working as a NP.Experience performing simple procedures independently with a desire to continue and grow procedural skills.Demonstrated excellence in the following areas: clinical practice, communication, clinical case management, and problem identification/resolution.Excellent verbal and written communication, professional attitude, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse population.Ability to satisfactorily perform job duties as defined in the job duties/functions.Preferred QualificationsMinimum of two (2) years of independent NP clinical practice in peds.Prior work experience in an academic medical center.Evidence of professional development through certification, conference attendance, post-graduate education, teaching duties, etc.Secondary language fluency.License/CertificationCalifornia Driver's license (CDL) if required for position.Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work (Accepted Certifications for this position: CPNP-AC).Current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California.Complete a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a Nurse Practitioner.Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice.Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day.Current AHA BLS.State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice.Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1.About UCSFAt UCSF Health, our mission of innovative patient care, advanced technology, and pioneering research is redefining what's possible for the patients we serve - a promise we share with the professionals who make up our team.
