We’re looking for experienced data scientists to work with our core product teams, who will take ownership of the team’s data projects and serve as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, Design, User Research, and Marketing.

Teams we’re currently hiring for:Product Foundations:

The Product Foundations pillar owns user experience across Figma’s product offerings. As Figma expands beyond our flagship Design tool and FigJam, this team is responsible for ensuring our products work well together. As a data scientist on this team, you will partner closely with product and engineering to identify new opportunities to support the user journey across products - from core editing tools, navigation between files, collaborative tools such as notifications and commenting, and more. The ideal candidate is someone who loves to think about deep product challenges and is excited about working on a highly cross functional team that supports Figma’s suite of products.

Monetization:

As a Data Scientist on the Monetization team, this role will support critical pathways for the business that help our users identify and purchase the right plan for their use cases. You will partner closely with product and engineering to identify new opportunities to reduce friction and better communicate the value of our products. The ideal candidate is someone who loves diving into the details and putting themselves in the shoes of our customers. This role will heavily leverage experimentation and forecasting to understand the impact of our product initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing:

Leverage various data science methods such as machine learning, statistical modeling, and causal inference to understand user behavior and optimize the product experience.Design and evaluate experiments to measure improvements to UI and algorithms.Generate ideas to creatively leverage data for shaping future product roadmaps.Drive democratization of data through creation of new datasets and tooling.Design and surface metrics to guide decision making.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Research, Design, Sales, and Marketing.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

5+ years relevant work experience in Analytics, Data Science or Software Engineering.Proven track record providing thought leadership to your team or organization.Fluency in SQL.Proficient programming skills in Python, R, or a similar scripting language.Experience in distributed data processing systems and framework (Hive, Redshift, Presto, Snowflake, Spark, etc).Firm knowledge around statistical methods and experiment design.Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills.Excellent technical communication and relationship-building skills.A growth mindset and experience investing in the learning, development, belonging, and impact of your peers.

Pay Transparency Disclosure:

If based in Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has the annual base salary range stated below. Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range. Please discuss your specific work location with your recruiter for more information.

Annual Base Salary Range (SF/NY Hub): $164,000—$338,000 USD
