4+ years of relevant work experience2+ years of experience working with ads or another monetization teamExpert knowledge of SQL and database architecturePython programming, including common scientific computing packages and data science tools such as numpy, pandas, and scikit-learnExperience in applied statistics and statistical modeling in at least one statistical software package, preferably Python (and/or R)Experience in designing trustworthy experimentation and analyzing complex product a/b testing resultsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audience, including executives and compile compelling narrativesAbility to solve ambiguous business problems with structured analytics frameworkInnate curiosity around finding meaningful insights that inform the way we think about and develop both our product and our business strategiesResponsibilities

As a Data Scientist at Nextdoor, you will be responsible for design and oversight of product experiments, own complex analysis to drive company and product strategy, and deploy online and offline models to a production environmentJoin our Monetization team as a Data Scientist where your primary role will be to enhance revenue and advertiser value by providing data-driven insights into our advertising marketplaceYou’ll be instrumental in conducting experiments, crafting measurement methodologies to address complex issues within the ads ecosystem, and formulating innovative strategies for revenue growthYour efforts will significantly contribute to the advancement and optimization of our core advertising productsThis role involves close collaboration with diverse teams including product, engineering, sales, and financeYou will be responsible for devising and executing metrics, analyses, solutions, and insights, providing practical recommendations to our business partnersBecoming a systems expert across all parts of the Nextdoor Ads ecosystemRunning experiments efficiently and accurately, including monitoring early feature development through tracking post-release follow-upsDeveloping and share strategic insights through data analysis, helping Nextdoor identify the next big opportunity for revenue growthBuilding scalable metrics and dashboards to inform product strategyPartnering with cross-functional teams to support product development efforts — including product, design, engineering, marketing, and operationsCaring deeply about data quality and empowering employees to leverage data to help them drive product changes, and help Nextdoor grow
