About the Position:Salary range: $120K - $150K
The Director of Development and Community Partnerships develops strategies and implements activities to identify, personally cultivate, and personally solicit strategic philanthropic engagement, major gifts, and planned gifts throughout Amity’s California and Arizona communities.
What You Will Do:Oversee overall implementation of development efforts.Research, identify and cultivate strategic philanthropic and community partnerships in the California and Arizona communities where Amity provides services.Research, identify, and cultivate major gift and planned giving (including estate) donors (individual and corporate) in the California and Arizona communities where Amity provides services.Research, identify and cultivate donors based on potential for giving and substantive interests, including strategies for engagement, relationship-building, meetings with donors and asks.Implementation and use of CRM to track relationship development, donations, and inform fundraising strategies.Work with existing philanthropic and business partners to identify and cultivate new prospects.Work closely with key thought leaders, existing partners, and top donors to identify new opportunities for strategic philanthropic partnerships.Coordinate with CEO and other leadership to schedule and facilitate in-person or virtual meetings and tours of Amity campuses.Coordinate with and support other Development staff with fundraising events and other support.Maintain appropriate email, phone, or in-person contact with philanthropic partners on an ongoing basis.Coordinate thank you letters, calls, emails; and develop, coordinate, and implement appropriate donor recognition strategies and events as needed.Assist with new project launches to ensure the vision of each philanthropic partner is incorporated as required.Schedule individual and social opportunities for donor engagement.Participate in weekly calls with relevant Amity team members to communicate, coordinate, and implement the philanthropic vision, needs, and timelines.Notify, coordinate with, and provide key information to Grants and Development Team regarding proposal deadlines and necessary content for the solicitation of major gifts from family foundations and corporations that require written content.Responsible for coordinating all data and completing reports required by philanthropic partners.Additional duties as assigned.What You Will Bring:Bachelor’s degree required.Minimum 2 years of management experience.Strong track record in securing major gifts of 6-7 figures.Demonstrated self-starter.Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.Experience with CRM databases.Demonstrated understanding of the California philanthropic landscape.Advanced degree preferred.Raiser’s Edge NXT proficiency preferred.What We Bring:Medical, Dental, Vision.Paid vacation, sick time, & holidays.401K, HSA, & Life insurance programs.Organization committed to community action.Community oriented workplace.
