Our hope is to inspire people from all walks of life to be prepared for the quantum era and encourage a path in STEM.About the RoleThe Public Sector Business Developer will be responsible for expanding SandboxAQ’s existing presence within the U.S. Government, its agencies, and other public sector entities. You will focus on expanding our current contracts and identifying new opportunities, selling our cryptography management solutions, and guiding clients through post-quantum cryptography migration. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of business development within the public sector, a deep expertise in cybersecurity, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders.The role is a great opportunity for individuals willing to build and lead a Public Sector team from scratch, in one of the hottest areas of cyber-security, combining deep tech innovation with the protection of national security interests.This is a remote position, ideally based in the DC Metro area, with support from our Solutions Engineers and Customer Engagement Managers to ensure smooth deployments and customer satisfaction.What You’ll Do:Drive Growth

Develop and execute a business development strategy to expand sales within the U.S. government and other public sector organizations.Identify, qualify, and close sales opportunities related to cryptography management and post-quantum cryptography migration.

Market Expertise and Pipeline Management

Stay informed about government cybersecurity requirements, trends, and initiatives, particularly around cryptography, cloud-based solutions, and quantum threats.Leverage your knowledge of government procurement processes, compliance regulations, and relevant security clearances to navigate the public sector landscape effectively.

Contract Negotiation and Closing

Build, manage, and execute on a robust sales pipeline, providing accurate forecasts and reporting regularly to the executive team.Lead contract negotiations with government agencies, ensuring that terms meet both company and client needs.

Relationship Building

Establish and maintain strong relationships with government clients and key decision-makers, ensuring long-term success and customer satisfaction.Work closely with Solutions Engineers, Customer Engagement Managers, and internal teams to provide technical expertise and ensure smooth customer deployments.

Who You Are:Experience

8+ years of business development experience within the public sector, specifically selling software solutions to the U.S. Government or federal agencies.Solid experience in cybersecurity sales.Proven track record of securing and managing large government contracts and working with procurement processes.

Technical Expertise

Strong understanding of cybersecurity solutions, in both on-premise and cloud-based environments.Exposure to cryptography and post-quantum cryptography is a plus.

Skills

Relentless obsession with winning and delivering on business goals.Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with government stakeholders.Ability to manage complex sales cycles and work collaboratively with technical teams during deployment phases.Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance customer needs with company objectives.

The US base salary

range for this full-time position is expected to be $163k - $228k per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
