Our department philosophy is aligned with UCSF campus leadership in the areas of recruiting, retaining, and celebrating individuals traditionally underrepresented in the health sciences, LGBTQ+, and individuals with disabilities.Anesthesia faculty members participate as a part of a team that includes over 250 faculty members, 25 staff physicians, 68 CRNAs, 18 fellows, 84 residents, 21 academic researchers, and 178 staff members. The Department has essential roles in patient care outside of the operating rooms, with active participation in Ambulatory Care, Acute and Chronic Pain, and the Preoperative Clinic.General clinical responsibilities for Anesthesia Faculty include a combination of providing anesthesia independently and supervising residents and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). Faculty are also expected to participate on the regional, pediatric, obstetric, inpatient pain, trauma anesthesia, and preoperative clinic services.Successful applicants will demonstrate an aptitude for and dedication to medical education and providing evidence-based, high-quality care in clinical teams that enhance the patient experience with a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction. Expertise and interest in the areas of trauma, regional and obstetric anesthesia, pain management, and domestic and global health equity align with the department's focus areas. Applicants are expected to teach residents and medical students; participate in University service, faculty meetings, monthly Grand Rounds and M&M conferences; contribute to quality assurance programs and continuing education; and advance the mission of the department.The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications by time of hire:Must possess a valid California Medical License.Must hold an MD, DO or equivalent degree.Must be Fellowship trained or have equivalent advanced training and/or experience beyond that of anesthesia residency training.Board certification in Anesthesia preferred.Applicants' materials must list current and/or pending qualifications upon submission.Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and achievements. The minimum base salary range for this position is $155,700 - $411,500. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.Please apply online at:
