Department Summary
The Office of Undergraduate Admission supports UCLA undergraduate student enrollment goals through recruitment, admission, and yield practices consistent with the mission and values of the university. We seek to recruit and enroll high-achieving, talented students from diverse backgrounds from throughout California, the US, and abroad to both benefit from and contribute to one of the leading research universities in the world.Position Summary
Under close supervision and guidance of the Admission Services Manager and the Deputy Director, the Admission Operations and Process Improvement Specialist provides exceptional customer service primarily through online support (email, chatbot, and other forms of self-service support), educating prospective students, parents, current applicants, and the general public about UCLA's first-year and transfer admission requirements, policies, and processes. The Specialist exercises professional judgment in reviewing, evaluating, and ranking applications for admission, using established guidelines to recommend applicants. In addition to these responsibilities, the Specialist contributes to operational improvements by conducting analysis, troubleshooting issues, and making process modifications within limited scope. This includes improving workflows, automating tasks, and ensuring operational efficiency while maintaining high service standards.

Ability to follow through on assignments. (Required)Demonstrated skills in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload and completing deadlines. (Required)Ability in analyzing general data, problems, situations, practices or procedures to define the problem or objective, identify relevant concerns or factors, and formulate logical and objective conclusions. (Required)Demonstrated interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and other staff members. (Required)Demonstrated written and oral skills to write clear and grammatically correct documentation and reports to convey information and to present ideas in group and one-on-one settings. (Required)Ability to use computer editing software to schedule and update reports and to effectively run routine computer reports. (Required)Demonstrated knowledge of Windows based applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (including mail-merge). (Required)Demonstrated experience using digital imaging system such as ImageNow. (Required)Working knowledge of Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems. (Preferred)Knowledge of Undergraduate Admission (UA) office processes including: Undergraduate Admission General Edit, UC Application for Undergraduate Admission, UCLA Admissions Management System data and operations, UCLA admission requirements, and UCLA Degree Audit System and UC transfer articulation rules. (Preferred)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
