Privacy & Cybersecurity Associate - AM 100 Law FirmAn AM 100 law firm with a leading Chambers-ranked Privacy & Cybersecurity practice is seeking an associate with 2-4 years of experience in health care privacy and related areas of privacy law. This role is available in the firm's Silicon Valley, Santa Monica, and Washington, D.C. offices.About the Role:
The ideal candidate will assist in advising clients on product and service development, drafting and updating privacy policies, procedures, training materials, notifications, consent forms, and providing other general privacy counseling. The firm serves technology and life sciences clients across digital health, artificial intelligence, social media, gaming, and other areas, offering comprehensive services for managing sensitive information, data breach response, and regulatory defense.Preferred Qualifications:In-depth understanding of health information privacy, including HIPAA, CMIA, and emerging state laws (e.g., My Health My Data Act)Knowledge of federal privacy laws like GLBA, FCRA, COPPA, FTC Act, and state laws like CCPAFamiliarity with international privacy laws and frameworks, including GDPRExperience with privacy policies, privacy-related contracts, data processing agreements, and incident responseFamiliarity with adtech is a plus but not requiredSuperior academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and strong referencesMembership in the California or District of Columbia Bar, or eligibility to sit for the examCompensation and Benefits:
The anticipated salary range is $235,000 - $310,000, with the actual base salary depending on experience, education, certifications, and other factors. Eligible employees may also receive a discretionary performance-based bonus.
