Application window is expected to close 10/30/24Who we areAcacia designs intelligent transceivers using advanced signal processing and photonic integration for the 100G, 400G and 1T bit speed fiber optic transmission market deployed in data center, metro, long-haul and ultra-long haul telecommunication networks.What you'll doYou will provide technical leadership in definition and implementation of large-scale block on a complex chip.You will mentor team members and track deliverables, participate in peer review of complex IC designs.You will provide expert advice on design methodology from conception to production.Actively contribute to Cisco research initiatives.You will work with cross-functional groups across Cisco to define future strategies, ensuring alignment and that we are building the accurate and optimized solutions for all teams.Who you'll work withYou will work with other Acacia mixed-signal engineers to collaborate to provide an optimized design that will integrate into the ASIC. In addition, you will have the opportunity to interact with other Acacia groups including digital/DSP design, system design, package design, and module design.Who you areYou are enthusiastic about developing high-speed AMS circuits and outstanding products. You are detail-oriented, energetic, and driven to tackle difficult problems.You can work independently but also thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, learning from and teaching your colleagues.Your communication skills enable flawless teamwork within and across teams, steering development positively.Minimum QualificationsBSEE degree with 15+ years of experience or equivalent, or an MS degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent, or a PhD with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent.Prior knowledge in top-down design approach.Extensive Experience in design, simulation and measurement of high-speed ICs in at least 3 areas below:High Speed Serial Links utilizing serializers, deserializers, and data converters.Voltage Regulators.High Performance Output Drivers.High Performance Phase Locked Loops.Data converter design.Opamps and Programmable Gain Amplifiers.Equalization techniques.Prior experience in software using the following: Cadence (Virtuoso), Spectre/APS/SpectreX, layout validation and post-layout extraction tools (Virtuoso or Calibre), EMX, mixed signal simulations in AMS, Matlab.Preferred QualificationsDirect experience with electrical transceiver applications, including backplane and cable communications.Experience with FinFET technology.High-frequency layout experience (passive component design: inductors, transformers, transmission lines, etc.).Floorplanning (power/ground, digital/analog signal routing).Custom transistor layout.Design for manufacturability (characterization over PVT, electromigration, power, and IR drop analysis).Laboratory validation (solid ESD practices and test high-speed interfaces).Why Cisco?#WeAreCisco.
