Our client is looking for an experienced public company CFO to support the team through upcoming transactions and/or milestones and manage the financial operations of the company. This role is primarily remote, however, EST working hours are required.
Responsibilities:
The CFO will be expected to manage the finance function, establishing, and maintaining a first-class finance and accounting team to support better business decision making through better analytics.
Lead a finance team that acts as a partner to the business operations, adding direct value through commercial and operational involvement.
Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability goals.
Manage cash flow and oversee all banking and financial relationships.
Ensure accounting organizations and systems are in place and operating effectively for oversight of external audit and tax reporting and planning, all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, and compliance with appropriate GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Provide financial analysis and reporting to the executive team and board of directors.
Develop and maintain relationships with investors and financial stakeholders; work closely with investors to develop and update the overall funding strategy for the business.
Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally.
Provide strategic guidance to the CEO and executive team on financial matters.
Qualifications:
At least 15 years of professional experience, at least 5 years in the CFO position or similar role is desired.
The ideal candidate has post-IPO, technology industry or related experience, and is adept in an accelerated growth environment; and is comfortable with speed and ambiguity.
Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation, and forecasting. Should be able to assess the financial health of a company, identify risks, and make strategic financial decisions that align with the company's growth goals.
Should be able to evaluate investment opportunities, analyze financial data, and make data-driven decisions.
Experience managing mostly remote teams.
Demonstrated success in delivering results in a fast-paced, rapid-growth environment.
Ability to think strategically through understanding multiple areas of finance and connecting them into a comprehensive go-to-market strategy in partnership with other commercial functions.
Ability to exercise business judgment to focus on initiatives with the highest impact.
Proactive and pragmatic attitude with the ability to identify new business opportunities and focus on getting things done.
Proven track record of building and scaling teams and finance function in the organization.
Strong leader who can manage and motivate a team of financial professionals. They should also be able to work collaboratively with other departments, such as sales and marketing, human resources, IT, to achieve the company's growth objectives.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the proven ability to present to the Board of Directors and potential investors.
The CFO has many responsibilities serving as the financial advisor to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), including strategic financial planning, leading and managing the budgeting process, and overseeing all sides of the company’s organization’s accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, and tax preparation.
The CFO must have a proven track record of success with automating financial and accounting reporting systems.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, consistent with working directly with other C-level executives to oversee an organization’s financial operations.
Requirements:
Proven work experience as a CFO desirable.
In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance and other regulatory matters.
Adept at fiscal management principles and processes, including resource management and needs assessment.
Partner with Chief Executive Officer to establish and track revenue goals.
Possesses critical knowledge of federal and multiple state tax laws as well as basic accounting issues.
A bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred, MBA desired.
