Job DetailsTo perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Set up, operate, and maintain press machines to produce high-quality materials in accordance with production schedules and customer requirements;
Maintain ink and dampening solution levels, clean blankets and cylinders; examine printed copy for ink density, position on paper and registration;
Make adjustments to press throughout production run to maintain specific registration and color density;
Examine job order to determine quantity to be printed, stock specifications, colors and special printing instructions;
Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, making necessary adjustments to the machine settings to ensure compliance with specifications;
Troubleshoot the press and quality related problems and take the appropriate steps to remedy the problem;
Pull all required press materials to work on;
Skid handling, and product delivery onto skids according to procedures;
Perform all tagging/labeling activities and move finished product to shipping or staging area;
Monitor machine performance, as well as detect and diagnose problems, and perform troubleshooting activities to resolve production issues;
- Conduct routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as necessary to ensure efficient operation;
Remove and replace worn rollers and adjusts pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools;
Wash-up 6 or 8 color press;
- Provide leadership to the press crew and department;
Pull and examine Quality Control sheets at the press during the job run in order to recognize issues;
Have a positive attitude;
Provide guidance to the press assistant;
Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets;
- Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment;
- Maintain accurate production records, including logs and reports on machine performance, output, and quality control data
- Maintain clean and organized work area;
- Fills in and help out with any and all hand-work if necessary;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of operating and maintaining large printing presses, preferably in a commercial print environment.
- Must have solid computer skills.
- Able to establish identity and US work authorized.
- Must be willing to learn and apply new software programs. Must have working knowledge and understanding of color theory, imposition and printing.
- Able to self-manage to troubleshoot problems and recommend solutions. Must possess a mechanical aptitude and dexterity.
- Must be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with the ability to multi-task, time manage, and follow instructions.
