Accounting Manager . The position is located in

Atlanta, GA

and reports to the Director of Shared Services.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will act as the central point of contact for assigned field locations including all month-end accounting activities.They will lead the month-end close and support operations personnel for financial close, operational and financial reporting for assigned field locations.Located in Atlanta, Ga., he or she will partner with stakeholders across the company including field finance leaders, DSS Corporate Accounting and DSS Finance Systems teams.They will establish business procedures and standards around the Company's monthly accounting cycle and the financial close.This role will drive opportunities to streamline our monthly accounting processes and standards by assisting with the implementation of a shared services approach for processes utilizing the leading practice and SAP S/4 HANA Cloud based application.

The ideal candidate should have proven change management skills, strong people and customer service skills, a track record of process improvement, exceptional accounting experience, and excellent teamwork skills along with an ability to work in an ever-changing environment.

Areas of Responsibility: Execute and support the workflow for all assigned accounting processes that streamlines and improves the financial close:

Oversee the accounting for all locations in DS Smith North AmericaLead migration of remaining accounting responsibilities into Share Service CenterServe as accounting lead on conversion of legacy systems to SAPProcess journal entries in SAP and legacy systemsMaintain DS Smith North America Balance SheetManage general ledger account reconciliations with sufficient documentationMaintain all inter-company and intra-company accounts and ensure proper reconciliationPrepare all operational, corporate and ad-hoc reporting including analysis requests, schedules and quarterly, annual workpapers.Ensure all cash journal entries are prepared and bank statements are reconciled to G/L account balancesEnsure compliance with GAAP and IFRSImplement and maintain adequate internal controlsPrepare year-end reporting packages, year-end schedules for NAPP Corporate Finance and Group, and local operations reporting needs.Complete monthly roll-forward reporting for NAPP /GroupCultivate strong working relationships with Finance and field personnelLead a team of 8-12 accountantsDevelop talent, manage performance and morale/engagement of the teamOther projects and assignments as necessary

Education & Certifications

A four-year bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting degree is required

CPA is a plus

Qualification & Experience

10+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITH INCREASING RESPONSIBILITY

SAP SYSTEMS EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

MANUFACTURING BACKGROUND PREFERRED

MOTIVATED INDIVIDUAL WHO WORKS WELL WITH OTHERS AND THINKS CLEARLY UNDER PRESSURE

EXCEPTIONAL ABILITY TO PROBLEM-SOLVE INDIVIDUALLY OR IN A GROUP SETTING

PACKAGING & PAPER EXPERIENCE A PLUS

CPA LICENSE OR CANDIATE A PLUS

MICROSOFT EXCEL AND POWERPOINT SKILLS

EXCELLENT VERBAL, WRITTEN, AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
