PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

The Project Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of specific projects, ensuring that costs are accurately tracked, budgets are adhered to, and financial reports are prepared in a timely manner. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, operations teams, and external stakeholders to ensure the financial integrity of projects and provide insight into financial performance.
Primary ResponsibilitiesManage the financial lifecycle of construction projects, including cost tracking, budget monitoring, and profitability analysis.Prepare and analyze project financial reports, including cost-to-complete forecasts, variance reports, and profit and loss statements.Oversee project billing and progress payments, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing to clients and proper revenue recognition.Review, verify, and process invoices from vendors and subcontractors, ensuring accurate coding to job cost systems.Manage compliance requirements such as lien waivers, insurance certificates, and retention payments, ensuring adherence to contract terms and legal obligations.Maintain organized records of project expenses and payments to support financial audits and reporting.Work closely with project teams to monitor budgets and ensure costs are properly allocated to projects.Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to resolve any issues related to contracts, vendor agreements, or payment disputes.Ensure all processes comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and construction-specific regulations, such as lien laws.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field3-5 years of experience in project accounting and accounts payable, ideally within the construction industryProficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Procore) and Microsoft Excel.Strong understanding of job costing, lien waivers, subcontractor management, and construction billing practices.What we can offer you:
