Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking a Material Handler to join our Manufacturing Team at our facility in High Point, North Carolina. In this role you will transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations. Pipe experience is required as you will be operating a lull.

Responsibilities:
Receive, distribute, and store products as directed in designated, secure locations Prepare and maintain records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information Review shipments for quality and accuracy; review accompanying documents for accuracy Confirm shipping details or special instructions; expedite shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule Transport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids) When problems arise, resolve issues with contractors or vendors Validate, approve, and forward invoices to accounting department Collect and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintain a safe and clean work environment Operate a forklift to safely and efficiently transport materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility. Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, or shelves, ensuring proper placement and securing of loads to prevent damage or accidents. Follow safety procedures and regulations at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and conducting pre-operational checks on the forklift. Inspect forklift and related equipment for any defects or malfunctions before each use and report any issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate activities, communicate any issues or concerns, and ensure timely delivery of materials to designated areas. Participate in training programs to improve skills and knowledge related to forklift operation, safety procedures, and company policies. Perform other related duties as assigned Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience operating a lull preferred Proven experience as a forklift driver in a manufacturing or construction environment. Valid forklift operator certification or license. Strong understanding of forklift operation and safety procedures. Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy in load handling and placement.

Excellent verbal communication skills Strong verbal communication skills Ability to read blueprints preferred Efficient time management skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
