Job Summary:
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Supervisor of Dental Sterilization Technicians is responsible for ensuring the sterility and functionality of surgical instruments and equipment. The position will lead a team of Dental Sterilization Technicians, overseeing the entire sterilization process to maintain the highest standards of infection control. Supervisor of Dental Sterilization Technicians is expected to handle assignments that are tied to Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Quality Assurance, and Quality Improvement compliance.
This position has two (2) levels designed to provide progressively more responsible and independent work experience. Progression between job levels is based on the demonstrated ability to successfully handle more progressively responsible assignments.
Qualifications:
SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF's geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF's Vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:
High School diploma or GED.Two (2) years of experience in sterile processing OR demonstrated proficiency working at SCF as a Dental Sterilization Technician.Current Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certification Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) OR Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS as required for specialtyAdditional Qualifications for Supervisor of Dental Sterilization Technicians II:
Two (2) additional years of experience at the Supervisor of Dental Sterilization Technicians I level OR demonstrated proficiency as a Supervisor of Dental Sterilization Technicians I.Current HSPA Certification in Healthcare Leadership (CHL).
