A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced NICU nurses for a travel contract.The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, NRP and CA License.Job Requirements
Must have 2 years of experience in NICU.Hold an active BLS, NRP, and CA License.Experience with delivery attendance is must.Competence in the care of level 2 NICU babies.Excellent communication skills, and overall pleasant person.Schedule Information
12 hr shifts.Shift starts at 6:45 AM; Report is at the bedside.Overtime and extra shift availability.Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW).First to float to other Sac facilities and postpartum care.Unit Specific Information
Must be comfortable with neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.Required to attend deliveries in rotation with other staff for both vaginal and cesarean.Ability to manage the initial resuscitation and complete transition of the infant.No nurses aids in the unit.Neonatologist rounds in the morning then comes in as needed.RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) managed by RT until infant can be transported.Additional Details
Modules are required to be done before start, take 3-4 hours to complete (not billable).For Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays; holiday time off will be considered but not guaranteed.Unit: NICU - Level 2.12 beds with Nurse:Patient Ratios of 1:3 and 70-120 births/month.Common diagnoses/types of patients include respiratory distress, feeders/growers, preterm (32+ weeks with higher acuity transferred out).
