TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Neuro Trauma Surgical Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night - 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 18 months required License: - For start dates 2-4 weeks out - Must have Indiana or compact license in hand - For start dates over 4 weeks out - Must have started the Indiana/compact licensing process Certifications: - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Basic Life Support (BCLS) Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience - Proficient in Telemetry and Neuro Experience - Management of Drips Job Description: - Must be flexible with weekend requirements; travelers must be able to work 50% of the weekends during their contract. - Possibility of precepting and/or having students shadow. - First-time travelers accepted; must be okay with being assigned students or precepting. - Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12. - Call-Ins: If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, they are expected to make up the day during the pay period if a 0.9 FTE. If unable to make up during the pay period, the shift will be added at the end of the contract. - Charge coverage may be required pending operational needs, with provided training and resources. - Skillset Preferences: Conscious Sedation and Level 1 Trauma Experience. - Floating Requirements: Travelers may need to float to different levels of care with provided resources, if needed. - Staffing Ratios: 1:3-4 (rarely see 5 during emergencies). - Unit Information includes CVAs, hydrocephalus, brain tumors and resections, seizures, TBIs, shootings, stabbings, motor vehicle collisions, and large wound cleaning and closures. - COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required. - Flu Vaccine: Required; medical/religious exemptions allowed. - Modules are non-billable, averaging 6-12 hours to complete and are done pre-start, reported via the online learning system. - Orientation: 12 hours non-billable. 26134802EXPTEMP Job Requirements Required for Onboarding ACLS - AHA BLS - AHA Core Competency 5 Benefits of Travel Nursing Advocating for patients becomes more nuanced when dealing with diverse populations.
