We are looking for a dedicated Staff Dentist to join our team, committed to delivering exceptional patient care for both acute and routine dental needs. This position involves supporting population health initiatives, adhering to clinical quality measures, and utilizing data to enhance patient outcomes. Accurate, detailed clinical documentation in alignment with relevant standards is crucial. Additionally, you will serve as a resource for Registered Dental Hygienists and participate in ongoing professional evaluation and peer review activities. Clinical Responsibilities: Manage an active patient panel, addressing both acute and routine dental conditions while following professional standards and organizational protocols. Provide high-quality patient care across various appointment types, including scheduled, same-day, walk-in, and urgent care visits. Perform a range of dental procedures, such as fillings, extractions, and root canals, in accordance with best practices. Utilize data analytics to support population health initiatives and continuously improve patient outcomes. Coordinate care by referring patients for necessary laboratory tests and specialty consultations, ensuring appropriate follow-up. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation that complies with federal, state, and organizational standards for coding and billing. Participate in clinical call rotations and serve as a backup resource during after-hours or emergency situations. Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the department and across the organization for co-managed patient care. Administrative Responsibilities: Engage in departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing clinical operational efficiency. Actively participate in committees focused on quality improvement and infection control, providing clinical insights as needed. Support ongoing professional practice evaluation and peer review to ensure high-quality care. Complete credentialing and privileging requirements promptly, including license and Board certification renewals. Assist in ensuring reimbursement for services rendered by providing necessary information to Human Resources and Billing. Stay updated on clinical competencies through ongoing education and training. Integrate evidence-based practices and healthcare advancements into clinical routines. Adhere to the organization's core values, compliance programs, and policies. Contribute to quality improvement efforts as directed. Complete professional development and training in a timely manner. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited dental school and residency program. Eligible for board certification. Valid Connecticut dental license, DEA, and Controlled Substance permit. CPR certification or eligible to obtain it within 90 days of hire. Strong orientation towards community/public health. Experience with CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding. Requires: At least three years of experience in dental practice, particularly in a multi-provider setting. Experience working with diverse socioeconomic populations. Familiarity with federally qualified health centers. Licensed in the state of Connecticut Key Attributes: Excellent clinical judgment and an empathetic chairside manner. Proficient with electronic health records. Willingness to learn about population health and the role of dental providers in primary care. Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Professional demeanor and appearance.
