Position Title:Building Security Services Specialist III Job Group:Professional & Scientific Required Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications:3 years of supervision, management and/or training management. Experience with key and card access/management experience related to surveillance camera systems on various platforms. Experience with management systems/workflow software and Microsoft Office Products. (Microsoft office, Workday, Total Maintenance Authority, Phoenix etc) Experience with communication to internal/external stakeholders, agencies, departments, etc. Experience completing tasks that require high attention-to-detail, organizational skills, and reporting including risk assessment. Job Description: The Department of Residence at Iowa State University is looking to hire a Building Security Services Specialist III. The Building Security Services Specialist III is responsible for overseeing day-to-day building access, surveillance, and security operations across the campus. This position requires strong professional and technical skills to independently manage and enhance security systems while supporting institutional goals. This role requires a proactive approach to enhancing campus security and ensuring the safety of all personnel and facilities. SummaryCoordinates and provides guidance on day-to-day building access, surveillance, and security issues campus-wide.Example of Duties Coordinates, configures, operates, and maintains physical and electronic security systems. Assists with developing customer rates and managing budget. Oversees and coordinates with staff on access and maintenance for security systems. Collaborates with vendors and contractors for security support. Assists in developing policies and procedures related to building access, surveillance, and security.Level Guidelines Senior-level position possessing high-level professional and/or technical skills working independently under minimal supervision to support ISU's mission and department or work unit goals Applies senior-level professional knowledge and expertise to work requiring greater latitude Solves moderately complex problems and regularly exercises judgment to determine appropriate action Regularly exercises judgment to resolve problems and determine appropriate action on a broad set of issue and problems.
