Scope of the Position

The Tool Room Supervisor coordinates and oversees the activities of the employees engaged in operating machines/equipment for general die maintenance and at the press machines. The Tool Room Supervisor assists the Tool Manager to ensure that production rates, schedules, quality, quantity and safety requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in all tool room operations, providing absence relief when required
  • Supervise tool room staff, including scheduling, training and managing performance
  • Work closely with production departments to understand tool requirements and ensure timely availability
  • Implement and monitor systems for tracking tool usage and maintenance schedules to reduce downtime
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for repair of existing tools
  • Conduct regular audits of tools and equipment to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Resolve issue related to tool performance or employee conflict within the tool room
  • Works closely with Engineering to review current production methods and tools and make recommendations to improve productivity
  • Support and maintain existing and future tools and fixtures for production to ensure proper function and minimal downtime

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in tool room operations
  • Prefer 1-3 years previous Supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency in using various tools and equipment related to tool room operations
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD or Spinfire
  • PC Proficiency required
